Privacy Policy

Adventure in Progress is a family quest and adventure app built and operated by Adventure in Progress, based in Western Australia. We take your privacy seriously, particularly because families with children use our app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

We only collect information that is necessary to provide the service:

• Account information: your email address and password when you create an account. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
• Quest activity: quests you save, complete, and create, along with any notes or memories you attach to them.
• Photos: photos you choose to upload when capturing a memory. These are stored securely and only visible to you.
• Family members: names you add for family members (e.g. kids' names) to personalise your experience. We do not require ages, dates of birth, or any identifying information for children.
• Collections: custom quest collections and categories you create.

We do not collect location data or sell data to third parties. We use Google Analytics to understand overall usage of our website (see "Analytics" below).

We use your information solely to provide and improve the Adventure in Progress service:

• To save your progress, memories, and quest lists across sessions and devices.
• To personalise your experience (e.g. showing your completed quests and earned badges).
• To send transactional emails where necessary (e.g. account confirmation, password reset). We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a managed database platform with row-level security. Access to your data is restricted to your account only. We use HTTPS for all data in transit.

Photos are stored in a private object storage bucket and are not publicly accessible by URL.

Adventure in Progress is designed for use by families, including children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Accounts are created by parents or guardians. Children's names added within the app (e.g. as family members) are stored solely to personalise the experience and are never shared or used for any other purpose.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information about a child without parental consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We use Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are viewed and how people navigate the site. Google Analytics collects information like your approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, and pages visited. This data is aggregated and does not include your name, email, or other account information.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by using your browser's "Do Not Track" or cookie-blocking settings.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

• Service providers: we use Supabase to store data. They process data on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
• Analytics providers: we use Google Analytics to understand website usage, as described above.
• Legal requirements: if required by law or to protect the safety of users.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your account and all associated data.
• Export your data in a portable format.

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in, and Google Analytics cookies to understand website usage (see "Analytics" above). We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
