Over the next few months while preparing for our move, writing will be a little sparse on the blog. We will still be getting out on a regular basis however, and therefore still plan on sharing photos of our excursions.

This past weekend we went for a hike in the Kennebec Highlands with some friends. The weather was warm, the post holes were deep, the feet were wet, but a great time was had by all.

Actually, it wasn't raining today, it was pouring. Forecasts were similar for the mountains as well.

It has been one of those weekends, where plans didn't go quite as planned. Not just because of the weather either, as some very sad events have taken place in our community. The kind of events that really make you look at your life and count your blessings. We are actually grateful for the rain as it kept us around home this weekend, maximizing our availability to help out.

Thankfully, I work at a college that has great indoor finess facilities, so we were still able to allow the kids time to blow off some steam.

Over the next few months you won't be seeing a lot of words on this blog, mostly just pictures. The reason for that is because we are rather busy at the moment preparing for our move back to Canada. Despite the busyness, we are still making time for our regular family outings - they are necessary for us to stay sane. Once the move is complete we will get back to a regular writing routine. In the meantime we will be sure to keep you up to date here via Renee's photography.

Today we did a nice day hike up the Appalachian Trail towards the summit of Old Speck in Grafton Notch State Park. The weather was crisp, the sun was shining, the sky was blue, and the camera got a good workout (as did we).
