Once winter arrives and the snow flies, one of our favorite weekly family activities is backcountry sledding. Thus far, this season has been missing one critical ingredient: the snow. That all changed this week when we had a huge dump; enough to merit a half-day off work due to poor weather.

Now that the snow is officially here, we are officially back on the sleds. We took the video camera out with us today and threw together this short video. Enjoy!

MRR!

Yes! Mad River Rockets! My roomie and I took my Mad River Rocket up into the mountains a couple weeks ago and shot some footage. I'm hoping to get some more throughout the winter and put together a little edit as well.

I made some Rocket vids back in 2007 and your video prompted me to head over to Youtube and give them a re-watch. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hey that looks dangerous with all those huge trees and roaming vicious dogs. Those kids would be much safer playing video games inside all day ;-)

My favorite parts were when Laurent crashed while wearing his dragon hat and the long shadows towards the end of the video.

Can't wait to see you guys in a couple weeks!

I liked Laurent's crash also, and I'm his mother for Pete's sake! It was such a beautiful day and I was bummed I couldn't photograph those long shadows....

Oh man, looks like so much fun! So glad we finally got some snow for you to enjoy the mountain! Those sleds look close to snowboarding - I think I'd like it! Ditto to John's remarks of seeing you all soon!

Do your knees hurt after that? My knees hurt watching. Still it looks like a blast.
